Marlin, considered the ultimate game fish among game fish. The gulf waters south of Pensacola provide some of the best billfishing action in Florida. Blue marlin and their smaller and more abundant cousins the white marlin make their appearance in our area as early as May and may be caught through November with peak months being June-October. Typically the Gail Force uses traditional trolling techniques utilizing artificial and artificial / natural bait combinations however large live baits may be used if the situation / conditions are favorable for such. All marlin fishing is tag and release (unless participating in a kill tournament), however a bycatch of mahi and wahoo is pretty much a given when offshore trolling for marlin so there is almost always something to take home for the grill .
